India is much less the uniform country that it seems at first. With some 18 federal states each with their own language and traditions, India is as diverse as Europe, and takes lots of time to get to know. Furhermore, the hustle and bustle of the ever growing Indian cities that strive towards modernity heavily contrasts with the tranquility and motionless time feeling you get in the country side.

Un fel de Tudor Gheorghe, mai sportiv, Rick cutreieră Asia de pe la începutul anilor '60 şi a facut-o în toate stilurile unui călător adevărat. Astăzi trece de şaizeci şi cinci de ani şi l-am întâlnit în India, cu care spunea că are o relaţie amoroasă foarte capricioasă. Se ceartă des şi se împacă de fiecare dată.
Sometimes one is lucky enough to find a place one would almost never leave. For me this is a place of tranquility, but also exciting and full of adventure, with some pleasant nature - some form of water, forest and rocky peaks - and interesting people. And thus is Hampi.
